Tim Burton @ LACMA

May 29 through October 31, 2011

The exhibit (*with the closing scheduled in time for Halloween) will be a retrospective of the filmmaker’s work featuring:

“over 700 drawings, paintings, photographs, moving-image works, storyboards, puppets, concept artworks, maquettes, costumes, and cinematic ephemera, including art from a number of unrealized and little-known personal projects” (LACMA.org)

There will also be a parallel exhibition featuring artworks chosen by Burton from Lacma’s drawing and print collections.

“Burton Selects” will be on display April 16 to November 13 in Gallery 205, the Rifkind Gallery, in the Ahmanson Building (LAtimes.com)

the exhibition’s opening in new york at moma in 2009 was a record attendance for the museum.  So see it for free as an intern/volunteer!

The museum is now recruiting student volunteers for front of house assignments supporting the Visitor Services program
